The former general director of internet-retailer Ozon Alexander Shulgin was represented by a team of "Belsky and partners" lawyers accompanied together with colleagues from "Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and partners" and foreign consultants, notes Pravo.ru.Due to Shulgin influence as the CEO of a large Russian internet group, the EU Council imposed restrictions on the businessman in April 2022. European authorities affirmed that the businessman is involved in the economic sector, which generates significant revenue for the Russian Federation government.
Shulgin resigned as Ozon's director and left the company's board of directors three days after restrictions were put in place. In response to this, the EU Council made changes to the wording in the documents and clarified the status of Shulgin, the former CEO of the retailer, but the justification for sanctions remained unchanged. Shulgin has submitted an application to the European Court. The documents he submitted confirm that he is no longer connected to the company, and he made it clear that he is not a leading businessman in the proposed EU context.
The European Court of Justice lifted the sanctions against Alexander Shulgin due to the lawyers' coordinated work (Case T-364/22).
