Dmitry Shnaydman is a Senior Partner of Belskiy & Partners. With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in legal risk management, dispute resolution, commercial litigation and arbitration in insurance law.
Prior to joining Belskiy & Partners, Dmitry Shnaydman headed the major cases litigation department at the largest Russian insurance company Rosgosstrakh, and after was head of the Insurance Law Practice at leading national lawfirm.
Dmitry has a unique experience in adjustment of large and complex losses in the interests of insured policyholders both at the pre-trial and judicial stages in the field of property insurance (including fire insurance, insurance of machines against breakdowns, insurance of losses from business interruption and business risks, trade credits insurance, mortgage insurance, agricultural insurance, etc.). He has taken countless cases to court and won over his career, saving and recovering billions of rubles in damages and costs on behalf of his clients.
Dmitry’s extensive judicial track record includes representations in tort related disputes (obligations due to infliction of harm); cases of bringing to subsidiary liability the owners and directors of the business; disputes arising from breach of contractual obligations.
He had also represented his clients at commercial arbitration institutions (ICAC of the Russian Federation), as well as at ad hoc arbitrations.
